Can I transfer between IOE campuses after enrolling?
Generally no. Regular-to-Regular transfer is not done. One narrow route exists into a full-fee programme elsewhere, and it requires paying the remaining fee in a lump sum.
Students at constituent campuses are generally not transferred from one campus to another, and a Regular seat is never transferred to another Regular seat. Plan on the assumption that your campus is final, because realistically it is.
The one exception
A student on a Regular seat who wants to move to a full-fee programme at another campus may do so at the start of second year first part or third year first part, if that campus has vacant seats. Where more students apply than there are places, selection is made on examination marks. You must inform the campus administration 15 days before the semester’s classes begin, and the full fee for the entire remaining period is payable in one lump sum.
Read that carefully, because it is not really a transfer
You are giving up a subsidised seat to buy a full-fee one elsewhere, and paying for every remaining semester at once. For most students the arithmetic does not work.
What this means when you choose in August
Anyone advising you to take any seat now and transfer later is describing a route that needs vacant seats, better marks than the other applicants, and a lump sum. Choose as though the decision is permanent.
