Is there an aptitude test for B.Arch admission at IOE?
Yes. Campuses may conduct a subject-related Aptitude Test for applicants named for Architecture admission, and it can run as late as the morning after the priority deadline.
Architecture has an extra step that the engineering programmes do not. Applicants whose names are published for Architecture admission may be required to sit an Aptitude Test related to the subject, conducted by the campus or college concerned.
When it happens
In the 2083 cycle the published schedule allowed B.Arch aptitude testing to run until 23 August at 10:00, which is after the 22 August priority-amendment deadline and on the morning the first list was due. If you are applying for Architecture, do not treat the priority deadline as the last thing in your calendar.
What it does not change
You still need to pass the IOE entrance and appear on the central merit list. The Aptitude Test is conducted at the campus level for applicants already named, so it is a filter within Architecture admission rather than a second entrance.
What to ask
Because the test is run by the campus rather than centrally, its format is not published in the booklet. Ask the specific campus what it involves, how long it takes, what to bring, and on what date, and ask early rather than after your name appears.
