Are seats reserved for women in IOE engineering admissions?
Yes. 10% of positions in both the Regular and Full Fee programmes are reserved for women applicants, inside the published admission targets.
The BE/B.Arch Booklet 2083 reserves 10% of positions for women applicants in both the Regular and the Full Fee programmes. The reservation operates within the published admission targets rather than as additional seats.
What to do about it
Ask the campus how the reserved quota is applied to your rank, and ask before the priority amendment window closes rather than after a list is published. Reservation is applied at the point of allocation, so the useful conversation happens beforehand.
Two related provisions to raise in the same conversation
The booklet carries other reserved categories alongside this one, and it settles what happens when an applicant qualifies under more than one: you are placed in a single quota, chosen by a printed order of precedence rather than by you. Taking the quota columns as the booklet prints them, the one appearing later in the order takes first priority and open is placed last — so an applicant eligible under both women and Janajati is placed in the Janajati quota automatically, which is the booklet’s own worked example. Applying under several does not multiply your chances. Where a reserved quota goes unfilled, those seats are published to open applicants.
What reservation does not change
You still have to pass the IOE entrance and you are still placed on the central merit list. Reservation affects allocation, not eligibility.
