What do the BE programme codes BCE, BCT and BEI mean?
BCE is Civil, BCT is Computer, and BEI is Electronics, Communication and Information Engineering. The codes are widely mixed up, including by directory sites.
Three codes appear all over admission paperwork and they are regularly swapped, including on national college-directory pages. Getting them right matters because you select a programme by code on the priority form.
| Code | Programme |
|---|---|
| BCT | Computer Engineering |
| BCE | Civil Engineering |
| BEI | Electronics, Communication & Information |
The confusion to watch for
BCE is Bachelor of Civil Engineering. It is not Bachelor of Computer Engineering, though at least one major Nepali college directory currently labels Computer Engineering as BCE. Computer is BCT. If a page you are reading uses BCE for Computer, treat its other details with caution too.
At Imperial College of Engineering
At this college the three programmes carry 96 seats in Civil, 48 in Computer, and 48 in Electronics, Communication and Information, which is 192 in total.
