Which BE programmes does Pokhara University run, and where can you study them?

The university’s own School of Engineering runs seven: Civil, Civil and Rural, Computer, Software, Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics, and Mechanical. Across the whole university the undergraduate list is wider, adding Electronics and Communication, Civil for diploma holders, Architecture and an AI and Data Science degree. Which of them each private college runs is not published by anyone.

Pokhara University’s engineering provision is broader than the IOE system’s three-programme core, and it is split across two levels that are easy to confuse. The university’s own School of Engineering at Pokhara runs seven bachelor programmes: BE Civil, BE Civil and Rural, BE Computer, BE Software, BE Information Technology, BE Electrical and Electronics, and BE Mechanical. That matches the programme count of 7 the Nepal Engineering Council registers against this institution. The university as a whole, across its fifteen affiliated colleges as well, publishes a wider undergraduate list under Science and Technology: it adds BE Electronics and Communication, BE Civil for diploma holders, Bachelor of Architecture, a Bachelor of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, and computing degrees outside engineering such as BCA and BCSIT. The gap between the two lists is where most published confusion about this university sits.

Two of these are worth a second look because they barely exist elsewhere in Nepal. BE Software Engineering is a distinct degree here rather than a specialisation inside Computer Engineering. BE Civil and Rural Engineering is a separate programme from BE Civil, priced identically, and the school publishes no intake for it at all.

The university’s own 2083 scholarship awarded lists add Bachelor of Architecture and a BE Information and Communication to that picture, since both received awards.

The gap: which college runs which programme

This is the question the system does not answer. The Nepal Engineering Council publishes a programme count for each of the fifteen private colleges — seven at Nepal Engineering College, six at Nepal College of Information Technology, five at Cosmos, one at Ritz — and does not name a single one of those programmes. Pokhara University’s faculty page lists the colleges with their addresses and phone numbers and no programmes at all. So there is no published source, from either the regulator or the university, that says which BE degrees any individual Pokhara-affiliated private college actually teaches. Each college’s own website is the only route to that, one college at a time, and this library has not read them yet.
