How does the Pokhara University BE entrance exam work?

There is no single Pokhara University BE entrance. The university’s own admission procedure puts the entrance on the college: it invites applications by public notice, checks them, and tells eligible candidates when its exam is. The university’s own School of Engineering at Pokhara runs one of these, and in 2083 it sat 1,246 candidates onto a fee-paying merit list.

Pokhara University does not run one entrance examination for its BE seats, and that single fact explains most of the confusion around admission to this system. The university’s own published admission procedure puts the entrance on the college: applications are invited by public notice, the college checks them, and the college then tells eligible candidates the date and time of its entrance exam. The procedure also allows a college to hold an interview before it selects. So an applicant comparing two Pokhara-affiliated colleges is comparing two separate examinations on two separate dates, not two priority choices on one form. The university’s own School of Engineering, at Pokhara-30 in Kaski, runs one of these. Its 2083 entrance sat on 7 August 2026, and the fee-paying merit list published the next day carried 1,246 names. In 2082 the same list carried 917, so it grew by about 36 per cent in one cycle.

The complaint window is the part most easily missed. The merit-list notice gives one working day for a written objection, filed in person at the School of Engineering, and it names no email address or online form for the purpose.

What Pokhara University does not publish about its BE entrance

This is the honest gap, and it is large. The School of Engineering has a page headed “Entrance Exam Syallabus” and a page headed “Model Question For Entrance”, and neither carries anything for the BE. The syllabus page serves a 17-page document titled “Syllabus for Master Level Entrance Examination”; the model-question page has a heading and no content at all. The school’s Admission page serves a Master-level admission guideline. Its online entrance portal at soeentrance.pu.edu.np, read in a browser on 2 September 2026, invites applications for “the Master’s Level Entrance Examination” and nothing else.

So a candidate preparing for a Pokhara University BE entrance has no published syllabus, no marks scheme, no sample paper and no online application route from the university itself. What exists is the college’s own public notice when it comes, and the merit list afterwards. If you are preparing, the practical consequence is that you are preparing for a paper whose shape the institution has not described in writing.
