Recognition

The Nepal Engineering Council first approved this college on 15 Shrawan 2063 BS1.

The University Grants Commission accredited it on 5 October 20162, on a term dated to run to 4 October 2021.

• The regulator registers this institution as the National Institute of Engineering and Technology; the faculty's seat list carries it as the College of Biomedical Engineering and Applied Science. Its own About page says both, and the address UGC prints for it now redirects to niet.edu.np.4
• Its own site describes the college as UGC-QAA certified and as the first engineering college in Nepal to hold that certification. The term the register records for it is the one printed above.4
• It is the only institution in this record teaching biomedical engineering at bachelor level, and the faculty's seat list gives that programme 144 places.3
• It also teaches a Bachelor of Technology in Artificial Intelligence, which its own site says admits directly with no entrance examination, unlike its two engineering degrees.4
• Its own site dates the institution to 2005 and describes it as the first biomedical engineering institution in the country.4
