NOC sets the price; the pump adds the rest. These are the Corporation's retail selling prices for each depot zone, and a pump more than about 15 km from its depot may legitimately charge a little more. Nothing here accounts for a pump's own margin, adulteration, or the queue.

Why this page prints a date and the others do not
Nepal Oil Corporation revises fuel prices roughly every fortnight, usually at midnight. A page that shows a number with no date cannot tell you whether it is this fortnight's number or last month's, and most of the Nepali fuel pages you will find do exactly that.
The Corporation publishes a revision table with the effective date on each row, so the figure above can be dated by NOC rather than by us. If the feed cannot be read at all, this page says so and shows nothing rather than showing you the last number it happened to remember.
Three zones, and the 15 km rule
The price is not national. Depots near the Indian border pay less to get fuel in and charge less for it; the Valley, Pokhara and Dipayal pay the most. The zone table above lists all three, and each price applies within roughly 15 kilometres of the depot it belongs to.
Mileage is the variable you control
The cost of a journey is distance ÷ mileage × price. Two of those three are set for you. A scooter returning 45 km/l and a car returning 12 crosses the same 200 km for Rs 889 and Rs 3,333 respectively at Rs 200 a litre — which is the whole argument for checking your real mileage rather than the brochure's.
Measure it once: fill to the brim, note the odometer, drive normally until the next fill, and divide the kilometres by the litres it took to fill back to the brim. That number, not the manufacturer's, is what belongs in the box above.
What a fuel price is made of
NOC buys from Indian Oil Corporation at a price set fortnightly, in dollars, and sells in rupees — so the pump price moves with the crude market, the rupee, and the taxes and levies layered on top, including the infrastructure tax and the road maintenance levy. A change in the exchange rate alone can move the retail price without any change in the price of oil.

- Your inputs stay in your browser. This page does fetch one thing over the network — the published rate it quotes — but it sends none of your figures with that request, and nothing you enter is stored or transmitted.

- Each tool names its source on the page, along with the date that source was read. Where a rate or a slab is provisional — announced in a budget speech but not yet gazetted, for instance — the page says so rather than presenting it as settled.
